Designed and made in Japan by 6 skilled artisans, the Higonokami is an iconic and historical pocket knife. This traditional blade is a friction folder or 'Penny Knife'. It uses the friction of the swivel and the pressure of the user's thumb on its iconic lever or 'Chikiri' to secure an open position. The brass pivot can be adjusted for tightness using a small flathead screwdriver.
The blade, stamped with VG10, indicates a high carbon steel with a ‘Warikomi’ blade construction. The wooden handle is engraved with Japanese characters that read, 'Trademark Higonokami'.
A wonderful utility knife and a great gift, this will become a cherished addition to anyone's daily essentials.
